Kochi | The aroma of success wafted high for Munnar-based Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company (KDHP), producers of Ripple Tea and an associate company of Tata Consumer Products Ltd., as it swept the stage with eight prestigious awards at the India International Tea Convention (IITC) 2025 held in Kochi.
The event, which brought together the country’s leading tea producers, traders, and connoisseurs, turned out to be a moment of pride for Kerala when KDHP showcased its dominance in both innovation and quality across two major competitions.
Gold for Speciality Excellence
In the inaugural Speciality Tea Contest, KDHP bagged two gold medals for its distinctive creations — Ripple Silver Tips and Ripple Classic Green Tea. These entries stood out among 99 contenders representing India’s prime tea-growing regions. The teas were judged by an international panel of expert tasters, highlighting KDHP’s global standing in specialty tea production.
The awards were presented at a grand ceremony in Kochi, with Kerala Industries Minister P. Rajeev handing over the honors to KDHP representatives, underscoring the state’s growing reputation in premium tea cultivation.
Golden Leaf Glory
KDHP’s winning streak continued at the Golden Leaf India Awards, where the company bagged an impressive six awards. This included three in the CTC category, one in the Orthodox (High Range) category, and two in the Green Tea (Open) category, reaffirming its versatility across diverse tea-making traditions.

Speaking after the triumph, K. Mathew Abraham, MD & CEO of KDHP, remarked:
